Taking Time to Enjoy!

Surprisingly, all three nursing students in this house just finished a load of tests and assignments last week and were able to enjoy a Saturday off with Grandpa Tingy and Grandma Shirley. It actually wasn't supposed to be that way in the first place because I had an all day CPR class scheduled then, but the teacher was sick and it ended up being all loaded onto this next Saturday. So we called up Grandma and Grandpa, who have been wanting to come up for a visit, and we made a day of it...talking together, baking cookies, sharing a meal, and shopping! Even the guys went shopping with us! Though, when we were supposed to meet them at the doors of the mall, after waiting around for a while, we realized they were waiting in the car! I guess they were shopped-out! :)

Well, in October it was freezing cold and cloudy, grey on and on...now it has been beautiful and sunny in November! I think we are finally getting our nice fall weather! Dad got all the wood stacked up to dry for winter (and he did it while it was freezing too--not knowing it would warm up!).

This afternoon, since it was around 60 degrees with beautiful sunshine, Dad and I went for a long walk together. Mom was teasing us by asking if we had a good conversation because she saw both of us head out with headphones in our ears! ;) Let me explain...Dad was going to walk and needed to listen to a CD that he is going to use in a Bible study, and since I wanted to enjoy the nice weather too, he let me tag along and I brought my ipod.

Even if we didn't talk ;) it was a great walk and I was able to enjoy some music that I don't usually get time to listen to, have some good prayer time, and soak in the beauty and details of God's amazing creation that surrounds us! Besides, just spending time being with my Dad and walking alongside him was great!

Well, I'm tuckered out! :)

...off to bed (OK, so maybe a little more homework first!)
