One of the last few days of our break from school was spent making soap!
It was really fascinating to learn the entire soap-making process and we had so much fun doing it together with friends! Alisa and Sarah were the experts, who had made batch after batch in time for Christmas gifts of all sorts of amazing scents---Chocolate Espresso, Cranberry Fig, Orange and Lavender...
We went over there to help "package" the soaps by tying bows and putting on labels so they would be ready for gifts. After Christmas, we were invited over to learn how to make soaps and to mix up some other fun spa products---which we had done together in the past.
The finished products: Soaps, Tropical Eye Cream, and Greek Cold Cream

Energy Soap (a mixture of citrus with extra grapefruit oils)~
(the colors of these soaps were intended to be stripes of bright yellow orange and pink, but it turned out to be more of the "earth-tone" colors---if that makes any sense ;)---the stripes worked great, though!)

Here are a few more pictures of the process...

The ingredients had to be measured to exact weights on a scale...and NO mistakes could be made because the ingredients were mixed!!! We sure shared a lot of laughter with all our nerves in doing that! :)

When working with the lye we had to wear goggles...so I just had to post a picture of us wearing such "sporty" eye wear! ;)

The soap was poured into molds and then sat for 24 hours....
and the next afternoon we were back to cut the soaps.
(sweet baby Zoe was enjoying her new Christmas gift her daddy made for her)

She also loved smelling the soaps...so CUTE! :)

It was
so great to get together with our friends again and to work on a super fun project together!
